Welcome to what has been 2 years in the making i bring you, Distant Districts! Nick Soley has worked tirelessly to bring his imagination to life with the work of his music. From sampling almost every instrument he can find , to putting all his musical influences into a mixing pot and creating a hybrid of his favorite genres. Soley grew up on old classic rock and then matured into old hip-hop when he was growing up. he started playing guitar when he was little but then moved to many other instruments including, Trumpet, Clarinet, and Keyboards before he rediscovered his love for guitar and blues/jazz rifts. he picked up the mic when he was turning 18 and started producing hip-hop beats to rap over for the course of the next 4 years before getting highly involved in the NYC music scene from taking photos, to hosting events, to djing, and networking with likeminded individuals. The Album "Distant Districts" is more than an just Soley's first album, it's a testament to his influences from everyone he's met, to everything he has done. then it becomes assimilated into his brain and then reprogramed into what you now hear. His music takes a wide variety of cultures and styles and makes it all seamlessly blend into each other. Starting with Hip-hop beats he pushes himself to make the old NYC hip-hop feel have a chiller side, a side filled with manys instruemnts to make it almost band-like but still electronic enough that you can still get excited for every drop that happens! Soley has a love for the Middle-east/ Oriental instruments and loves to incorporate them into his music because it adds a otherworldly feeling the smoothness that a lot of normal musicians don't regularly use. Soley's music will go from Trip-hop/Acid-jazz ideas and then break from the loop and have electronic basslines that keep people moving and grooving till his set is done. he performs under two different names one which is Soley , the other Is Sick Noley , each with different sets.. Nick plays live though ableton with every part of every song in his launch menu to create limitless creations. his influences from artist like Michal Menert,Gorillaz, Bonobo, Fractal Sky, Opiuo, Love & Light, Desert Dwellers, Tipper, and Gramatik his music has been finely tuned into the instrument to take this world by storm! he has performed/opened for many talented artists such as, Love & Light, Levatation Jones, SriKaloGY, Narkatta, and many more! he recently started a music Label called Daedric Record which is a record company to help get up and coming producers from the northeast together to help perfect each's craft and network to help each artist as a whole. Some of the artists under his label include. Solar Mantra, Kloud, Kozy Moth, and Chop Dog.
